annual Fall-a-thon fundraiser JULY 18, 2014

The Abiding Spirit Center, a local non-profit wellness center, hosts
their annual FALL-A-THON event on Friday, July 18, starting at 6:30 pm. This is an OPEN to public event and observers
are welcome!
The primary goal of the Abiding Spirit Center is to bring traditional
wellness activities to our community, reaching out to as many people as have
interest. The classes and resources offered at the Center are not a means to an
end. They are “a means to a way” that can lead one to a healthier, more balanced
life through such things as Oriental Medicine, Aikido (the way of harmony of
the spirit), specialized meditation, Qi Gong and Yoga workshops.
The FALL-A-THON is unlike any other event in our county. Much like a walk-a-thon, this is a fundraiser in which our Aikidoists receive donations per technique and / or falls with a partner within a 12 minute time period (though flat fee donations are also accepted). Participants have been training for this event for some weeks, and some of the more fit and experienced can be thrown more than 200 times within these 12 minutes.
Through funding and donation, we strive to operate our facility and offerings to their peak capacities, providing resources that focus on optimal health and personal empowerment. Our programs are open to the community, and we also offer specific programs for various groups, such as PTSD support groups, groups for people with autism, violence survivors, cancer survivors, and others, using different avenues to work with all types of people from different perspectives.
Our door is always open to spectators or sponsors! Please contact us or click on the "Donate" button below to support us.
